How African Ladies Can Maintain Healthy Lifestyle With Diet

In most developing countries, the white carbs such as rice have become our favorite meals. No matter how we try to cook them, they would still be filled with carbohydrate except with little balance of protein and vitamin. For us ladies, we are often in the fight of trying to maintain our weight or reduce our weight due to the type of meals we take. A healthy lifestyle and diet are the best weapons to use against cardiovascular disease. We have some simple steps you can implement to take care of yourself when it comes to your diet.

Maintain Your Weight

You should start by knowing how many calories you should be eating and drinking to maintain your weight. Increase the amount and intensity of your physical activity to match the number of calories you take in. Aim for at least 30 minutes of moderate physical activity on most days of the week or at best 30 minutes every day. Regular physical activity can help you maintain your weight, keep off weight that you lose and help you reach physical and cardiovascular fitness.

Eat Variety Of Nutritious Foods

You may be eating plenty of food but your body may not be getting the nutrients it requires from the foods to be healthy.  You should be aware that foods rich in fiber, minerals, vitamins and other nutrient can be low in calories. However, to receive the required nutrients, go for low fat dairy and fat free products, fruits, whole grain and vegetables.

Vegetables and fruits are high in vitamins, minerals and fiber and they are low in calories. Eating a variety of fruits and vegetables may help control your weight and blood pressure. Unrefined whole grains food contains fiber that can help lower your blood cholesterol and help you feel full which may help you manage your weight.

There are right number of calories to eat each day depending on your age and physical activity level and whether you are trying to lose, gain or maintain your weight. You could use your daily allowance of your calories on a few high calorie foods and beverages but might probably not get the right amount of nutrients your body requires to be healthy.
