There is no continent that doesn’t have wealthy men and women. Sometimes, the wealth that these people amass is unbelievable in the midst of recession and lack. There are parameters used in checking out the wealth of these men and women.

 

Forbes is a king when it comes to fishing out richest men and women on earth.  Africans Over the years, we have seen Africans sit on the Forbes  list of the wealthiest men and women on earth.   We have listed a few of these Africans whose wealth made them semi-gods on earth


Mansa Musa I.

 

Mansa Musa may not be alive but when he lived, his fortune was estimated at $400 billion. This was more than what Bill Gates could ever earn.  It was reported that Musa was the richest man on earth. He was the ruler of Malian Empire.  When he died, the wealth didn’t multiply neither did it stay because those who inherited it couldn’t keep it.

 

 

Muammar Gaddafi


Muammar Gaddafi left behind a net worth of $200 billion. He was so rich that when he died, it was discovered that he had secret wealth that was dazzling.  In 2011, it was found that he got property worth £1 billion in the UK.

Oba Obateru Akinrutan


Oba Obateru Akinrutan is the traditional King of Ugboland. Ugboland is in Ondo  State, Nigeria. He is the owner of one of the largest private oil firm in Nigeria, Obat Oil. The king was crowned in 2009, also deals on real estate in different parts of the world.

Aliko Dangote

 

Aliko Dangote is a billionaire and owner of the Dangote Group. Dangote has a company that operates in different parts of Africa and has net worth  that is estimated at US$12.5 billion. In 2014, Forbes ranked him as the 23rd richest person on earth. He has become the richest person on earth from African descent.

 

 

 

King Mswati III, Swaziland

King Mswati is the last absolute monarch in Africa who is married to more than 15 women. He holds a flamboyant birthday celebration yearly and refuses to share a spot with Jesus Christ on Easter holiday. The king’s personal net worth is at least $50 million. He doesn’t spare luxury and has become a king who doesn’t really consider the traditional way of keeping calm as a ruler. He is into a lot of investments and has never shied away from showing off his wealth.

 

These are some of the richest men in Africa, but the list keeps getting bigger and bigger every year. Some of the names we didn’t mention don’t mean that they are not very wealthy.
