APPLY: Desmond Tutu/Church of Scotland Masters Scholarship 2018 for Africans

Desmond Tutu/Church of Scotland is offering candidates who are interested and eligible Scholarship to Master Programme to pursue at University of Edinburgh.  This scholarship started in 2009 when it was used to celebrate the Honorary Degree of Doctor of Divinity conferred by the University on Desmond Tutu. Tutu spoke about the historic connections between the University of Edinburgh and Africa during the graduation ceremony. He said that some of the first African doctors were trained in the university and this long tradition is what has connected the university with the other parts of the world.

Benefits

  • The scholarship will help the student to complete a one year academic year. It will cover accommodation and full overseas tuition fee. There is an allowance for maintenance for one academic year.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants who are applying should have gotten a spot at the university. They should also accept the offer.

The scholarship is for students from Africa who have been accepted to do their  full-time basis postgraduate Masters programme of study within the School of Divinity.

This scholarship is awarded based on academic merit, a Bachelor Degree equivalent to a UK first class or 2:1 Honours degree.
